THE FIRST NOKIA MADE PHONE CALLED MOBIRA TALKMAN 450 MADE iN 1984
Get this crazy concept: from 1986 to 1992, Nokia manufactured the Mobira Talkman 450. This crazy large device was a revolutionary concept… a cell phone you can CARRY WITH YOU. (If your arms were strong enough to lift this massive block of 80’s technology.) With the Talkman, you could make phone calls and talk– at the same time! For a couple thousand dollars, this same suitcase-sized apparatus
could’ve been all yours–to carry with you anywhere.
For that hefty amount of money the phone didn’t have such features as cool wallpaper, fun ringtones, crazy games, and texting. Stupid 1980’s!
If people are currently worried about contracting cancer from their modern cell phones, image the worries generated from a cell phone that fits into a large backpack and looks like it runs on dilithium crystals? Also, imagine how annoying you would have been– back in the day–if you plopped one of these
puppies on your restaurant table and started loudly chatting away?
